Abel Tasman National Park Overview
Situated in the north-west corner of the South Island, the Abel Tasman National Park is a popular destination, offering a wide range of outdoors activities and attractions.
Named after Abel Tasman, the Abel Tasman National Park is bounded to the north by the waters of Golden Bay and Tasman Bay. The Tonga Island Marine Reserve adjoins part of the park.
The park is administered by the Department of Conservation.

Abel Tasman National Park is a coastal wonderland of sea, sky, rocky headlands and bright golden beaches.
The Abel Tasman Coast Track is a popular tramping track which follows the coastline. The Abel Tasman Inland Track is an inland route and is less frequented than the Abel Tasman Coast Track.
Kayaking, camping and sightseeing are other activities that can be done in the park.
