Fairlie
Fairlie is a quintessential rural New Zealand town and the eastern gateway to the Mackenzie region. The picturesque town has four distinctive seasons. Spring puts on a colourful display in contrast to the rich green rolling hills and pastures. In summer the town is a suntrap with long hot days offering plenty of time to explore. Come autumn the main street is framed by hues of gold and orange while in winter Fairlie can often be dusted in snow. more
Fairlie is also a recreational playground offering a stunning golf course complete with mountain views, boating and fishing in the rivers and on Lake Opuha, hunting and hiking in the hills and in winter great skiing and fun at Mount Dobson. Discover the intriguing history at the Fairlie museum and at Mabel Binney Cottage or visit one of the many local art galleries. After a day exploring settle in for the night at one of the farmstays in the area and enjoy a true ‘Kiwi’ experience.
