Flying Within New Zealand
Whether you are a local or an international traveller to New Zealand, chances are you'll need to fly between cities or towns at some stage. The map below indicates all of the places local airlines fly to. The larger airlines generally fly to the main centres and a few other places but some of the smaller airlines are often the only ones to fly into the smaller areas around New Zealand. In addition there are several private charter airlines that will fly you almost anywhere, and several scenic flight operators.
To show you which places an airline flies to and from, simply hover or tab over on an airline logo and it will show you on the map below.
Flying In and Out of New Zealand
The majority of travellers arriving or leaving New Zealand do so by flying into or out of one of the main two international airports - Auckland International Airport (North Island) and Christchurch International Airport (South Island). All major airlines fly via Auckland but many also use Chrischurch. Some other major tourist towns also have a few international flights.
