Swanson is a small suburb located 12 kilometres from central Waitakere. It's also located 20 kilometres to the west of Auckland. Swanson is an western outer suburb stretching from the eastern edge of the Auckland urban sprawl into the breathtaking Waitakere Ranges to the west. Swanson is home to Swanson Village, a shopping centre with a pharmacy, a doctor's office and very popular local café.
