Hello, My family of 5 will be in the South Island for 2 weeks from the 21st of November 2019 . We are unsure how many nights we would like to stay in certain areas and finding it difficult to book in advance and being locked in . Do you think it is necessary to book all our accommodation before we go? or will we be able easily find accommodation while there?

Your NZ visit will be just prior to the peak season, so you'll likely be able to find accommodation without too much of a problem, as long as you are not too precious about where you stay.
If you do want to stay in a specific place, then it is best that you book that place in advance.
